Pogo one of the most underrated post-hardcore bands from the 2000s. The songwriting and guitar arrangements are SO good. For an album with this amount of energy, it's a pretty big deal how well it holds my attention with each song flawlessly flowing from one to another. Favorite track: Love Is A Dog From Hell.

Following the whirlwind success they found with their debut the previous year, the Jonbenét hit the studio early in 2006 to record Ugly/Heartless, a heavier and darker direction for the band compared to The Plot Thickens.

On Ugly/Heartless, the band keeps it raw and real, recorded live, giving the songs an organic feel and a sinister, unpolished aesthetic.

Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness.
